There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Nicowas a model, actress, singer, and songwriter, releasing six solo albums after her departure from the Velvet Underground. She was born in Germany, but later moved to New York to pursue acting. She eventually became part of Andy Warhol's infamous "Superstar" clique and began singing. She played a prominent role in The Velvet Underground's early success, and though she was never officially a member of the band, she was a major contributor to the album "The Velvet Underground and Nico", featuring the legendary "banana" cover designed by Andy Warhol.
